I've read an incredibly irritating article today from one of these big companies that sells photographies of artwork on canvas that they call "painting reproductions."
They say a picture of an artwork printed on canvas is a reproduction. Bullshit.
They play with semantics to sell their products, and Google abide because they spend millions of dollars on ads and link building, so they have a high authority.
Soon, you will see on Google that a reproduction artist is a guy who operates a printing machine to do a photo. Yeah, my ass. As much as a janitor is a large surface technician expert.
An oil painting reproduction can only be made by a reproduction artist, using oil paint and drawing the artwork on canvas.
Otherwise, it is just a photo, even if it is on canvas.
